Custom Handmade Tile Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern all custom handmade tile orders placed with Olivia Henrie. Submission of payment constitutes the customer’s acknowledgment that they have reviewed, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Order Acceptance & Payment
Production will begin only after full payment has been received unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Payment confirms the customer’s approval of all order details, including design, quantity, dimensions, pricing, and the estimated completion timeline.
It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that all order information is accurate before production begins.
2. Custom Orders
All tiles are handcrafted specifically to the customer’s requested designs and specifications.
Because each order is custom-made, modifications or additions may not be possible once production has begun.
Any approved changes requested after payment may require additional fees, revised production schedules, or both.
Olivia Henrie reserves the right to decline design revisions that would compromise the integrity of the artwork or interfere with production.
3. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
Custom orders are non-cancelable and non-refundable once payment has been received.
All custom sales are final. Returns, exchanges, credits, or refunds will not be issued for custom-made products except where required by applicable law.
If production has not yet begun, any cancellation request will be considered solely at Olivia Henrie’s discretion.
4. Handmade Characteristics
Every tile is individually handmade, hand-glazed, and hand-painted. Variations are an inherent and expected characteristic of handcrafted ceramic work.
Slight differences in size, thickness, shape, color, brushwork, glaze movement, texture, edge definition, and surface finish are normal and should not be considered defects.
Minor glaze crazing, subtle warping, kiln marks, pinholes, or other characteristics inherent to the firing process may be present and are considered part of the artistic nature of handmade ceramics.
Colors may vary slightly from photographs, digital mockups, samples, or previous orders due to the firing process, glaze chemistry, monitor settings, and natural material variation.
Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly due to the handmade production process.
Each tile is individually inspected prior to shipment (or pickup) to ensure it meets Olivia Henrie’s quality standards.
5. Artwork & Artistic Interpretation
All artwork is painted entirely by hand and interpreted in Olivia Henrie’s artistic style.
Reference images are used as inspiration and guidance. Exact duplication of photographs, illustrations, previous work, or another artist’s work cannot be guaranteed.
Minor artistic interpretation and compositional adjustments may be made at the artist’s discretion to achieve the best possible finished result.
6. Production Schedule
Estimated completion dates are provided in good faith but are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
Production timelines are dependent upon drying time, kiln schedules, weather conditions, material availability, and other factors inherent to handmade ceramics.
Customer delays, including delayed approvals, incomplete information, design revisions, or delayed communication, may extend the production timeline.
Olivia Henrie is not responsible for delays resulting from circumstances beyond her reasonable control, including but not limited to kiln malfunction, supply shortages, shipping delays, weather events, illness, natural disasters, utility interruptions, or other force majeure events.
Rush orders receive scheduling priority but do not guarantee completion or delivery by a specific date in the event of circumstances beyond her reasonable control.
7. Installation & Use
Installation is the sole responsibility of the customer and/or their installer.
Olivia Henrie does not provide installation services and assumes no responsibility for installation methods or results.
The customer is responsible for verifying that the tiles are appropriate for the intended application before installation.
Olivia Henrie shall not be liable for damage resulting from improper installation, improper handling, cutting, drilling, adhesive selection, grout selection, substrate preparation, structural movement, environmental conditions, misuse, neglect, abuse, impact damage, or normal wear over time.
Once installed, the customer accepts responsibility for the finished installation.
8. Shipping & Risk of Loss
Orders are packaged with reasonable care to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
Ownership and risk of loss transfer to the customer upon delivery of the shipment to the shipping carrier for transport.
Customers must inspect their shipment promptly upon delivery.
Any shipping damage or missing items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. Original packaging, shipping materials, and photographs of the damaged package and contents must be retained to support any shipping claim.
Failure to report shipping damage within the required timeframe may affect the ability to pursue a carrier claim.
9. Limitation of Liability
Olivia Henrie’s maximum liability for any claim relating to a custom order shall not exceed the original purchase price of the affected products.
Under no circumstances shall Olivia Henrie be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including project delays, labor costs, installation costs, replacement materials, loss of profits, or other related expenses arising from the purchase, installation, or use of the tiles.
10. Intellectual Property
All artwork, illustrations, designs, photographs, and hand-painted imagery remain the exclusive intellectual property of Olivia Henrie unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Purchase of a custom tile does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
Artwork may not be copied, reproduced, manufactured, scanned, digitally reproduced, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
Olivia Henrie reserves the right to photograph completed work and use images of commissioned pieces for portfolios, exhibitions, social media, websites, marketing, and promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed to in writing before production begins.
11. Right to Refuse Service
Olivia Henrie reserves the right to decline or discontinue any requested commission that falls outside her artistic style, technical capabilities, ethical standards, production capacity, or studio policies.
12. Acceptance of Terms
Submission of payment constitutes the customer’s acknowledgment that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.
